Leovis Coats Whitt Art Exhibit to Open September 10

The Alabama Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of the Leovis Coats Whitt Art Exhibit on Tuesday, September 10. It will remain on display in the Center’s Walking Gallery until Friday, September 20. An Opening Reception will be held at the Alabama Center for the Arts on September 10 at 5:30 pm. The reception will be free and open to the public.

Leovis Coats Whitt was a teacher and poet who resided in Limestone County, Alabama. She taught in Limestone County and Athens City Schools, and graduated from Athens College in 1940. She passed away in 1996, and this exhibit serves to honor her memory and talent.

The exhibit will be free and open to the public. The Alabama Center for the Arts is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm and on Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.
