Topic: The importance of certifications in the workplace

Description: For years, we have been told that getting a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and/or Ph.D. will open doors to opportunities. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Many employers are now expecting several years of experience alongside a Bachelor’s Degree for most entry-level jobs. Having a certification as well as these degrees allows you to set yourself apart and be eligible for more directly billable work for your company. Today, we will discuss the various careers and how you can direct your path! Not only will you set yourself apart during the hiring process, but you will also come in more familiar to that specific environment.
Speaker Bio: Brad Ikerman is a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer/Lead. He currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Athens State University as well as a Security+ and CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner certifications. He has over 10 years of experience in various positions from development to penetration testing.
