Athens State University will host its annual Veterans Day program on November 11 at 11:00 AM at the Alabama Veterans Museum in Athens, Alabama. This year’s program will feature veteran and President of The Company You Keep, PeggyLee Wright. “Connect to the Server,” PeggyLee’s program topic, will include her sharing experiences through storytelling, including the ways that each of us serve our families, schools, workplaces, and communities by connecting to the servers within us. This event is part of Athens State University’s “Athens Forever” Bicentennial celebration series and is free of charge. Lunch will be provided.
PeggyLee Wright is a former US Army UH-60 Blackhawk pilot, having served at the 82d Airborne Division, Honduras Central America, and Fort Lee, Virginia. Following her military career, PeggyLee used her experience in DoD, logistics, leadership management, behavior analysis, and education to create a new approach to business development and solutions providing—ultimately establishing THE COMPANY in 2018.
THE COMPANY is a Woman Owned, Veteran Owned Small Business headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama. As Company President, PeggyLee harnesses the true power of Huntsville’s synergy with measurable impacts across government, industry, academia, non-profit, and military enterprises.
PeggyLee’s work continues to be recognized at high levels. From being featured in the HSV/Madison County Chamber of Commerce recruitment video for Veterans to the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama inviting PeggyLee to judge their ReIgnite Alabama Campaign to The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs highlighting the work of The Company to multiple speaking engagements across the state, PeggyLee’s expertise and knowledge provide leading edge insight as companies and organizations seek to strengthen and grow.
Within the academic arena, PeggyLee is leading the capital campaign for the state magnet school, Alabama School of Cyber Technology & Engineering (ASCTE), America’s only high school focused on preparing the next generation of cyber and engineering professionals.
Moreover, PeggyLee is passionate about giving back to the community. Her philanthropy work has helped to provide significant financial support and opportunities for children, veterans, and educational institutions. She is on the Board for Huntsville SOF Network, an affiliation of Huntsville’s unique abilities, technologies, facilities, academia and government, all motivated to connect cutting edge solutions with Special Operations Forces. Through her partnership with HEALS (Health Establishments At Local Schools), PeggyLee won the award of “Champion for Children”–raising $75,000 for the organization. She also serves as the President of the Executive Board for Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theatre & Academy, a phenomenal organization that allows our region’s children to embrace performing arts.
However, without a doubt, PeggyLee’s driving force is her family of 4 incredible kiddos, and her husband of 25 years, TJ.
