“I am humbled and honored to be a part of a class with so many accomplished people,” states Glenn. “I have always felt that leadership is an ability that has to be consciously sought and honed. One of the ways I have always sought to learn about leadership is through observation of great leaders. I am excited about the opportunity to observe and learn from so many of Alabama’s accomplished leadership. The Leadership Alabama program has always been extremely effective in creating this type of leadership learning environment.”

The Montgomery based leadership organization was founded in 1990 and now includes over 800 citizen leaders in Alabama who have participated in the program. Members are selected based on their leadership abilities, career accomplishments, volunteer activities, contributions to their communities and commitment to help shape a better Alabama.

In addition to leading the Athens State campus, Glenn serves on the board of directors for The United Way of Athens and Limestone County, and the Decatur Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Athens Rotary Club, and received the Paul Harris Fellow Award for 2013-14 from the Rotary Club of Decatur. He is a member of First Methodist Church of Athens.

Glenn was one of nine leaders chosen from the north Alabama area. Others included Attorney Marcel Black from Tuscumbia, Toyota Motor Manufacturing President Jim Bolte from Huntsville, Huntsville Arts Council Executive Director Allison Dillon-Jauken, Madison County Sherriff Blake Dorning, Beason and Nalley President Don Nalley from Huntsville, Decatur City Schools Superintendent Ed Nichols, Leadership Huntsville/Madison County President and CEO Sarah Savage, and Huntsville City Schools Superintendent Casey Wardynski.
