Love on a Leash Visits Athens State University

ATHENS, Ala. - Last week, Love on a Leash’s Therapy Dogs visited Athens State University in an effort to relieve student stress associated with the upcoming week of finals. The three visiting dogs brought smiles to the faces of numerous students, faculty, and staff.

The participating therapy dogs included Miss Sophie Grey, a Yorkshire Terrier who is 8 years old and has been a therapy dog for 5 years, Taka, a German Shepherd who is 6 years old and has been a therapy dog for 5 years, and Mulligan, a mix of Norwegian Elkhound and St. Bernard who is 4 years old and been a therapy dog for 2 years.

All dogs affiliated with Love on a Leash Therapy K-9's are registered with the national organization Therapy Dogs Inc. based in Cheyenne, WY. Their goal is to bring smiles and happiness to everyone they meet and at Athens State University, they achieved their goal.
