Technical Education
Technical Education Instructors work in public and private colleges, professional schools, junior or community colleges, community-based programs, career and vocational schools, government agencies, and within business and industry. Technical Education Instructor candidates learn and apply the fundamental principles of effective teaching in a variety of learning environments; enabling them to plan, develop, administer and evaluate learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of learners.

Options within the Technical Education program include:

  • Early Instructor
  • Instructional Design
  • Military Instructor
  • Post-Secondary Instructor
  • Secondary Instructor – the only option in Technical Education which leads to Alabama Teacher Certification

As a Technical Education major at Athens State, you’ll:

  • Become knowledgeable in teaching your program specific skills to various learners
  • Be part of a caring community of learners
  • Experience hands-on work with learners
  • Observe learner behaviors and various teaching techniques
