Homecoming Weekend
The festivities for Homecoming Weekend coincided with Geezerfest III (self-titled reunion of 1965-1975 Greeks) on May 3rd and 4th. Click here for the recap video.

Annual Alumni Awards and Reception
The Alumni Association hosted the 105th Annual Awards Ceremony and Reception to honor Distinguished Alumni, Family and Friends of the University on Friday March 1, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Ballroom.

Those honored were (L-R) Dr. Kenneth Dunivant, Distinguished Alumnus; Dr. Bob Glenn, University President; Anthony Clifton, Distinguished Alumnus; Classic Catering- Paulette Young, Deweese and Jim Beasley Appreciation Award; Robert Ford, Distinguished Alumnus; Dr. Amanda Branscombe, Dr. Loraine B. Pabst Commitment to Teaching; and Steve Clark, Distinguished Support Staff.

Athletic Reception
The 2013 Athletic Homecoming will focus on the women’s sports programs. A reception will be held in Carter Gymnasium at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27th. We would like to make every effort to invite all former players (men’s and women’s) and add items to our Sports Memorabilia Museum. Please forward any contact information on teammates by email or call the Office of Alumni Affairs at 256-233-8185. Sports Memorabilia can be loaned or donated to Archives by contacting Sara Love at 256-216-6671.

A License to Give
Show your pride and support by purchasing an Athens State University license plate. The Athens State plate can be purchased in any county statewide through your license commissioner or probate office. Whether buying or renewing your tags the cost is $50 with $41.25 going directly to Athens State for scholarship funds. It's an easy way to promote the University while on the road and help provide student scholarships.

Annual Alumni Golf Classic
The Alumni Golf Classic will be held at Canebrake Golf Club on May 16, 2013. Golfer registration and sponsorship forms are available by clicking here. Or, you can use the online registration here!

The Classic was founded in 1992 to provide valuable student scholarship funds. The Alumni Association awarded more than $27,000 in student scholarships in 2012-2013, with $12,000 coming from the Classic proceeds.

Contact the Office of Alumni Affairs at 256.233.8185 to reserve a sponsorship, team or for additional information about the Golf Classic.

Flag Day Ceremony
Athens State University saluted our nation’s flag during the Flag Day ceremony on Thursday, June 14, 2012. The 2013 Flag Day Ceremony and Cookout is scheduled for Friday, June 14, 2013. This event is free and open to the public.

Tent at the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention
The next Fiddlers Convention will be Friday, October 4th-Saturday, October 5th, 2013. Please stop by the Alumni tent and fill out an update card, renew your Alumni membership or just to say “Hi”. We will have Athens State, Athens State College and Athens College items for sale.

Christmas Concert & Reception
The Annual Christmas Concert was held on Sunday, December 9th, 2012 in Carter Gymnasium followed by a reception. The reception was co-hosted by the Alumni Association and Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Athens State University Night with the Huntsville Havoc
Tickets are $10 each! Wear your Athens State gear so you can pick out fellow alums. Call Cambria Knutson at 256-518-6163 to order your tickets for Friday, February 22nd. When ordering tickets, you must mention you are with Athens State to receive the discount. Deadline to order is 5:00 p.m. the day before the games. For more information, click here.

Ireland’s Coastal Treasures- November 7-15, 2013
Book by May 7th and save $250! This comprehensive tour introduces you to another side of the Emerald Isle.
