The Office creates and supports an environment that advances the University mission of providing high quality and affordable education to all qualified students. In close collaboration with the President, academic deans, faculty and staff, as well as the Department of Post-secondary Education of the Alabama Community College System, the Office oversees the strategic planning of academic programs, policy development and review, program assessment and institutional effectiveness, and faculty and student development. Six academic and administrative units report to Academic Affairs: the College of Arts & Science, the College of Business, the College of Education, the Office of Institutional Planning, Research, and Assessment, the Off-Campus Sites, and the Library.
